Smeerling Antiques has been in business since 1997 in Smeerling, a hamlet in the north of the Netherlands. We are passionate about the antiques trade and we love the path of discovery and research. We love to find gems in our search for new items in our shop and to do research into all 
kinds of finds.
The shop provides a wide variety of Dutch and European antiques, vintage and collectibles with an emphasis on quality and authenticity.

Since 1997 Smeerling Antiques has been selling antique furniture, vintage, collectibles and garden accessories. At first there was only a physical store. but since 2008 it is also possible to buy items in our online web shop which is open 24 hours a day. 	
Next to that we also have our own restoration workshop where the furniture is restored and repaired by Bert.

Antique rare polychrome Dutch Delft plate, also known as a charger

It dates from the late 18th century, circa 1780

The plate is made of tin-glazed earthenware and is hand-painted

The decoration is depicting flowers, a pine tree, and a scene with rocks and a bridge in the background
   
The rim features a repeating floral pattern

Diameter: 22,5 cm - 8.9"

Condition: the edge has the usual damages related to age

An antique French religious giltwood Calvary crucifix with polychrome plaster figures

The figures depict the crucifixion of Christ with the Virgin Mary and Saint John the Evangelist at the foot of the cross

The base includes a serpent figure and the Latin inscription "CONSUM MATUM EST."

The cross features ornate, gilded metal detailing 

The phrase "Consummatum est" translates to "It is finished," a quote attributed to Jesus on the cross

Cranes are a traditional symbol in Chinese culture, often representing longevity and good fortune
